ON May 1, 1948 bands, crowds, dignitaries and airplanes assembled to dedicate the Twin Falls Airport as Joslin Field in honor of Sgt. Ramond Joslin of Filer, the first Twin Falls County aircrew member killed in action in World War II , shot down as an aircrew member of a B-17 bomber in September of 1942. Twin Falls Mayor Herbert G. Lauterbach was quoted as "Asked the assemblage to fix the purpose of the dedication in their minds, and by so doing, to remember the other "gallant men who lost their lives in winning the war." Now 75 years later let us not forget that dedication and honor the memory of Sgt. Joslin and others who served our nation past and present.
